“My favourite thing about lemonade is the receipt!! I love that I don’t have to manually explain how much it costs to help someone send money!!!” – Anu (UK)
It feels a lot like 2022 started two minutes ago. Yet, here we are with the February roundup, which means only one thing: the month is wrapping up! What did we get up to in a month that sometimes felt a little longer than January?
We’ve got a gift for you as February rolls to a close. Starting today, you can now spend more on the Lemonade Finance app, as we’ve raised your limits. The old limits were $2000 daily, $5000 weekly and $20000 monthly.
The new limits are…drumroll please: $5,000 daily, $10,000 weekly, $25,000 monthly. It means you can now send more money home to family and friends.
In December, we shared that we’re working on a brand new Lemonade app that will provide a smoother and more visual experience for you. I’m happy to share that we’re making progress with the new app and after arm wrestling Afeez and Ridwan, I was even able to share one screen from the new app design with you.
Yet, Afeez, who’s our superstar head of product, says apps take quite a bit of time, so he expects that the brand new Lemonade app will be ready to launch sometime in April. And while we’re still on the subject of things we promised to launch; we’re happy to share that we’re launching the Lemonade Finance blog next week! We’re going to be telling a lot of stories about what Africans are doing in their new countries and what their new experiences are. If you’re open to sharing your experiences and stories, please email me at Olumuyiwa@lemonade.finance. I look forward to the stories we’ll tell!
While we’re still talking about people, we’re happy to share that one of our content partners, Reni Odetoyinbo, was one of only five Canadian creators selected for the #YouTubeBlack Voices Creator Class of 2022. Check out her YouTube channel here. Jackie Amoako, who is also a Lemonade content partner, was also selected for U.K’s #YouTubeBlack Voices Creator Class of 2022.
As Russia and Ukraine seem to be caught in the cross-hairs of conflict, one valid question is this: what happens to the 4,000 students in Ukraine? If you’re a student in Ukraine open to sharing your experience, send me an email here: olumuyiwa@lemonade.finance
Aside: As the Russia and Ukraine crisis escalates, it’s pretty easy to be hit with information overload. The trick is to stay informed without constantly staying updated in a way that may induce worrying or anxiety.
Be sure to share with us how you’re preventing information overload at this time. See you in March!
