Today we’re launching a new look to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter for Lemonade Finance. Our vision remains the same: creating new and better ways for Africans in the diaspora to hold, send and receive money from home.
It’s taken weeks of work and more Zoom meetings than we care to admit in creating this new look. The result is something we love, and we’re excited to show it to you today. As you will see, we’ve updated our logo, colour scheme, and overall design. Our new look will be everywhere we have a presence: our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube. It’ll be in our emails, Google Play Store, and the App Store.
We’re not making the change because we have too much time on our hands. Instead, it represents our first attempt to match our brand look with our vision.
Since launching the beta version of the Lemonade app in 2020, we’ve stuck with the same stripped-down logo, which reminds me a bit of a peeled lemon. At the time, our focus was on creating an excellent app for you. A lot has happened since then, the most significant of which is that we now have thousands of African users in Canada.
We’ve come a long way since we launched the beta version so the look and feel of Lemonade Finance across all platforms matter. So, a peeled lemon — pun intended — wasn’t going to cut it anymore.
While paying homage to our old logo, our design goal for a new identity was guided by four ideas: a brighter future, exploring the narrative of sharing, empowerment, and expansion. Our colors were also carefully chosen to reflect us as African while celebrating the continent’s culture and identity.
We hope you like this new look and feel for Lemonade Finance! Look out for more updates — like a brand-new website — as we continue on our mission to change banking for the African diaspora.
